Open Fire-Rated Design Possibilities with Fireframes ClearView® System from Technical Glass Products.

Technical Glass Products’ (TGP) Fireframes ClearView® System helped create a sense of openness within University of Pittsburgh’s Allen Magee Scaife Hall. Able to defend against fire, smoke and heat transfer, this fire-rated glazing system joins pieces of Pilkington Pyrostop®, low-iron, fire-rated and impact safety-rated glass with nearly colorless butt-glazed joints. This eliminates the need for vertical mullions within TGP’s Fireframes® Heat Barrier perimeter frames, maximizing the amount of glazing possible. Providing unobstructed sightlines through the building’s central stairwell, the Fireframes ClearView System contributes to the hall’s open design and offers a close visual match to adjacent non-rated assemblies.

To learn more about how this butt-glazed, fire-rated system can help facilitate code-compliant designs without aesthetic compromise, click here.

High-quality channel blocks are in great demand on the market. This is why RATH has not only resumed production of forehearth 333 channel blocks, but has also developed new, premium zircon-mullite channel blocks.

Recently RATH has started to supply the FOURATH®420 and 433 zircon-mullite channel blocks to its customers. “The first installations were done with great success. Currently we have several ongoing projects in the production phase, and in 2024 we continue to expand our forehearth business segment, offering a complete refractory package to our customers”, says Robert Nusszer, Head of Sales Glass, RATH.

In addition to the development of FOURATH®4, RATH has resumed the production of forehearth 333 channel blocks at the US facility in Owensville. The channel blocks are manufactured using the original 333 formulas with the original casting technology, which made the mix popular on the market, from Europe to the USA and Asia.
