In the container glass industry, minimizing machine downtimes is a top priority in order to achieve high productivity. The use of high-quality refractory materials in forehearth and feeder mechanisms is of great importance in this context. All RATH refractories are formulated from the highest quality raw materials and designed to achieve predictable density and resistance to erosion and corrosion. However, the correct installation of the feeder expendables is also crucial to good refractory performance: Feeder expendables are sensitive, high-purity and fragile products, and must be installed according to the refractory manufacturer’s guidelines to avoid typical installation errors that lead to machine downtimes.
