Acid etched glass
Pulp Studio expands its proprietary DermaGlass collection with DermaAR, an acid etched, ultra-thin architectural material that is durable, lightweight and resilient for both exterior facades and interior applications. DermaAR, with a thickness of 1.3 mm is a low iron glass that is offered in sizes up to 58 inches x 118 inches. It is a tough, flexible, lightweight, scratch-resistant material which can be used with Pulp Studio’s Pintura, a water-based back-painted, or laminated with printed graphic interlayer. This makes it a resilient and versatile material for both architectural and elevator cab applications.
Using an ion-exchange process, the ultra-thin profile that DermaGlass and DermaAR offers designers multiple options for design applications such as bent glass column surrounds or customized, decorative shapes while addressing performance needs for surface strength. DermaAR, with an acid etched surface, offers a smooth, matte surface that minimizes glare. DermaGlass and DermaAR meet the following U.S. standards for indoor use.
- CSPC 16 CFR 1201 (laminated)
- ANSI Z97.1-2009 (laminated)
- ANSI maximum impact Class A
- CPSC maximum impact level Cat II
- DermaAR can be laminated or laminated to a honeycomb core for safety and ease of installation
Glass sample kit
Vitro Architectural Glass has introduced a new Advanced Low-Emissivity (Low-E) Glass Sample Kit featuring Vitro’s range of Solarban solar control, low-e glass products for convenient comparison.
Each product sample in the Advanced Low-E Glass Sample Kit features a solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC) of 0.25 or less, which indicates an ability to reduce the transmittance of heat energy from the sun, making them ideal for use in façade designs requiring daylighting control.
Included in the Advanced Low-E Glass Sample Kit are the following products:
- Solarban R100 Solexia Glass
- Solarban 90 Clear Glass
- Solarban R77 Solarblue Glass
- Solarban R77 Atlantica Glass
- Solarban 70 Solargray Glass
- Solarban 70 Solarbronze Glass
- Solarban 70 Optiblue Glass
- Solarban R67 Optigray Glass
- Solarban R67 Azuria Glass
- Solarban 60 Pacifica Glass
The sample kit’s design features imagery of specific projects constructed with advanced low-e glass products by Vitro to inspire architects and designers. The Advanced Low-E Sample Kit also contains educational inserts that provide helpful information about Vitro glass products, websites and services for building industry professionals.

Vacuum insulating glass
VacuMax vacuum insulating glass by Vitro Architectural Glass integrates with any traditional, and even non-traditional, glazing system to maximize insulation performance. The product delivers an R-value of R14, close to that of a traditional wall. VacuMax VIG units consist of two lites of 4-millimeter glass separated by a non-leaded proprietary metal seal and a vacuum space. The unit’s slim construction and light weight allow it to be incorporated into virtually any traditional glazing system, window frame or curtain wall application.

Coated glass
Guardian SunGuard SNR 35 coated glass provides a low solar heat gain, a neutral silver appearance and stunning neutral reflectivity. SNR 35 delivers a crisp, reflective look and features a lower solar heat gain coefficient of 0.17 for energy saving performance. By combining the classical, neutral aesthetic both at normal and angular incidence with superior energy performance, SNR 35 presents an attractive exterior architects seek while helping to provide bright, comfortable interiors, say officials.
