Vitro Architectural Glass has updated its online Glass Education Center website with a series of three new articles that address topics relating to sustainability, including a comprehensive review of embodied carbon, a discussion of biophilia and biophilic design, and a review of green building codes and code organizations. These courses are aimed at glaziers, architects, and those with an interest in sustainability within the industry. The three courses are available at glassed.vitroglazings.com.

Jumbo glass

Vitro Architectural Glass launched Titan glass, a new oversized glass product for large-scale exterior insulating glass units. Titan glass products are 130 by 240 inches, an increase from the maximum size of 130 by 204 inches previously available. The glass is available initially in heavy thicknesses of 8 and 10 millimeters.

Guardian Glass achieved UL Product Lens Certification, covering three global product categories: uncoated float glass; sputter, or vacuum coated float glass, including commercial SunGuard and residential ClimaGuard products; and UltraMirror products. Through the certification, Guardian offers customers third-party certified data for its glass products.

Vitro Architectural Glass acquired exclusive rights from LandGlass and VIG Technologies to sell their tempered vacuum insulating units in North America, and plans to begin manufacturing VIG units in its North American facilities as the market for VIG products develops. The 8.3-millimeter tempered VIG units consist of two fully tempered lites of glass separated by a non-leaded metal seal and a vacuum space.
