Glaston

Glaston’s advanced architectural glass TPS, Thermo Plastic Spacer, technology provides processors with end products to satisfy the toughest warm-edge demands. Insulating glass units made with TPS improve energy efficiency in buildings, increase durability and reduce energy costs. A major advantage of TPS is its production flexibility. Directly applying the Thermo Plastic Spacer onto the glass lite significantly simplifies the processes for IG manufacturers, as the entire production mix can be manufactured on one line.

The Owl 4 Furnace Optimization System offers recipe selection, a load Validator and, new to the Owl 4, a missing part notifier. The system provides a check for losses in the furnace and communicates with an Osprey to confirm all parts in a load are present. If not, it will alarm the operator. Additionally, it collects data in real-time. The furnace recipe is defined, and heat time is optimized for the load as it enters the furnace.

It includes a new complete graphical interface supervision system, available with a large touch screen TV monitor with total control of the furnace, that provides continuous display of the heating cycle and all control tools. It includes a power consumption monitoring system and user manual with automatic problem-solving system, thus minimizing the downtime of the machine.

Additionally, intelligent isoControl Technology provides an upgraded built-in heat control system that offers a smooth heating curve. The UltraJet dramatically reduces the edge kink defects occurring in the heating chambers, which significantly improves the flatness of the tempered glass.

The LandGlass UltraJet Tempering Furnace, available from IGE Solutions, features OptiFlow Technology via a splitter in the convector of the heating oven that ensures convection evenness. Forel will reveal the “High Tech” IG line with thermoplastic spacer. The range is capable of processing double, triple and quadruple IG units; IGUs with offset panes or shaped panes; and units up to 130 inches by 236 inches, weighing 275 pounds per linear foot (assembled panel), in thicknesses up to nearly 4 inches. Equipped with a flat plate coupling press with gas filling and sealing machine, the line can process rigid or flexible spacers and can use up to three different sealing products.
